Who am I and Why Should You Listen To Me?
Welcome to your course. The upcoming lessons are going to:
- Teach you all about If It Fits Your Macros
- Show you what you need to get started and,
- Show you how to get started
And ultimately, how to achieve your fat loss fitness goal.
Why am I qualified to teach you these things?
Well, let me show you.
My name is Christian Pinedo and I am the founder of Leanwithstyle.com
I first started my fitness journey at a weight of 235 lbs. I was fat, out of shape, and miserable.
So, like any sane person, I decided to go on a weight loss diet.
No one told me how, or what to do, so I turned to the internet.
Surely, the internet was filled with great, ethical people who just want to help you right?!
Lol. Yeah, no. I fell for about every trick in the book when it came to false advertising and marketing in the weight loss niche.
I STRUGGLED for the first 2 years of my fitness journey:
This was my High School Graduation - 2013 - 235 lbs.
(July 2015)
Here’s me after 2 years of following strict, non-sensical, dumb, horrible, awful, [insert any negative adjective here], diets!
So what was I doing during those 2 years?
Well, a LOT of eating was what I was doing… (sorry I had to roast myself lol).
But in all seriousness, I wasn’t tracking anything.
I was following crash diets that were NOT sustainable (i.e., keto, low-carb, low-fat, high protein, intermittent fasting, etc.)
I was told by the “gurus” that this is what was needed to get “shredded.”
In reality, all they wanted was to make a quick buck.
Well, that shit wasn’t going to fly with me anymore.
Here’s a picture of me a couple of months after that last picture was taken.
December 2015 - 185 lbs.
I got down to 185 lbs.
Lost 50 lbs.
No, my physique wasn't perfect, not at all, but it was a HUGE change for me.
So what happened? What changed?
- I STOPPED crash dieting.
- I STOPPED labeling foods as good and bad
- I STOPPED trying to find the shortcut (because there isn’t one).
- I STOPPED feeling sorry for myself and blaming other people.
Instead, what I did is this:
- I STARTED to look at the “numbers”
- I STARTED to read books on health and fitness, nutrition, and strength training
- I STARTED to learn about calories and macros
- I STARTED to track them with a food scale
- I STARTED to learn how to use MyFitnessPal
- I STARTED PRACTICING IIFYM: If It Fits Your Macros
And that is all I did.
The majority of my results came from losing weight and fat (yes they are two different things).
Weight loss comes from eating in a calorie deficit. There is no denying this universal law.
Fat loss comes from your macronutrients split (This is where IIFYM comes into play).
Whether you’re looking to lose 5 lbs or 100 lbs, this IIFYM guide will help you.
It’s fully customizable, which is great, and it’s up to you to get on the right track with your fitness journey.
And that’s what I want to share with you in this guide.

Right: Picture is of my most recent cut in 2019. I show this, not to brag, but to show you what is possible with IIFYM.
